This position greets our customers and accepts their donations in an efficient and courteous manner. The position works outside in all weather conditions. Excellent customer service skills are a must!

Donation hours are Monday through Saturday 8:00‑8:30 a.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Availability to work evenings and weekends is a must.

Pay: $16.45 per hour. Eligible for Daily Pay. Part‑time employees in the Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Employees may also make pre‑tax or post‑tax (Roth) contributions to the retirement plan – must be 18 years of age to participate. Goodwill of Colorado is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) eligible employer.

Job Summary:

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers or stand‑alone donation centers (ADC). The Associate greets customers and assists as needed, including lifting or unloading donations. Associates handle goods with care, respecting donated items.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides excellent customer service, greeting customers timely, answering product questions.
  • Assists customers in unloading donations from vehicle or other areas.
  • Ensures donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
  • Inspects donations, makes quality decisions for sales floor or shipment to other locations.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees.
  • Maintains remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers, following opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensures supplies at remote site are stocked.
  • Tracks and reports donation levels daily to avoid overstocking.
  • Communicates promptly when warehouse or trailer is full and a truck is needed.
  • Follows all policies and procedures.
  • Assists drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck.
  • Follows all safety processes and procedures.
  • Cross‑train in other departments or act as back‑up for other areas.
  • May be required to report to store ADC or stand‑alone center.
  • Job duties may extend beyond listed tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • One year of retail experience (preferred).
  • Ability to make decisions following Goodwill standards.
  • Basic computer skills for ordering supplies and email.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification; forklift certification required.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
  • Work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime.
