Job Summary
Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers or stand‑alone donation centers. The Associate greets customers, helps unload donations, sorts items, and maintains a safe, organized environment for customers and staff.
Essential Functions- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions.
- Unload donations from vehicles or other areas and assist drivers with loading and unloading onto trucks.
- Inspect, sort, and handle donated items with care, directing them to appropriate bins or production areas.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in the donation entrance and parking lot areas.
- Operate remote donation centers, sheds, and trailers, following opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site.
- Keep supplies stocked at remote sites and track donation levels daily to prevent over‑stocking.
- Communicate promptly when donation warehouses or trailers are full and a truck is needed.
- Follow all retail center and donation center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
- Assist with cross‑training in other departments and serve as a backup for other areas as required.
- Respond to requests to report to the store ADC or stand‑alone center as needed.
- Perform any additional duties as required.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: One year of retail experience preferred.
- Make decisions following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
- Basic computer skills to log into a computer system, order supplies, and send/receive email.
- Work effectively in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
- Use safety equipment for lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
- Obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification and operate hydraulic baler and forklift; forklift certification required.
- Read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
- Work a varied schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
Pay: $16.45 per hour. Eligible for Daily Pay. Part‑time employees eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Retirement plan contributions available. Goodwill is an PSLF eligible employer.
AvailabilityDonation hours:
Monday through Saturday 8:00 – 8:30, Sunday 9:00 – 7:00. Availability for evenings and weekends is required.

Physical Requirements- Continuously lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling, and squatting.
