Our client is an industry leader with a reputation built on exceptional quality, trusted relationships, and a commitment to producing premium proteins the right way. They are seeking a strategic Director of Food service Sales to lead key distributor partnerships and accelerate premium beef growth throughout the Eastern United States.
This is not a broadline food service sales role.
Success in this position comes from understanding how to sell the value of premium beef, building executive-level relationships with independent meat distributors, and expanding existing business through credibility, product expertise, and strategic account management.

What You'll DoOwn a portfolio of strategic food service distributor relationships across the Eastern U.S.
Drive profitable growth within existing distributor partners while identifying new premium beef opportunities.
Develop relationships with owners and senior leaders of independent meat distributors and regional meat purveyors.
Position premium beef as the gateway to expanding sales across additional fresh protein categories.
Collaborate with regional sales leadership to execute customer growth strategies.
Represent the organization at key customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
Travel throughout the territory building long-term partnerships with distributors and key customers.
This organization is looking for someone who understands that premium beef is not a commodity sale.
The ideal candidate knows how to communicate the value behind premium attributes including quality, consistency, animal care, sourcing, flavor, and brand differentiation. They can confidently speak with meat professionals, distributor ownership, and senior decision makers who expect more than a traditional sales presentation.
This is a highly relationship-driven position focused on expanding share within existing strategic accounts, while continuing to grow new business opportunities.
Ideal BackgroundWe're particularly interested in candidates with experience selling:
Premium branded beef programs
Premium fresh meat or protein products
Branded Angus, natural, Certified Humane®, grass-fed, organic, or other value-added beef programs
Independent meat distributors
Regional meat purveyors
High-end food service distributors
Premium protein manufacturers
Experience with premium beef attribute selling is strongly preferred.
Candidates from commodity protein backgrounds without experience selling differentiated beef programs are unlikely to be the best fit.
Qualifications8+ years of progressive food service sales experience
Strong background in premium beef or branded protein sales
Experience working with independent meat distributors and meat purveyors
Executive presence with the ability to build trusted customer relationships
Strong knowledge of beef cuts and premium beef attributes
Hunter mentality balanced with exceptional account management skills
Ability to travel throughout the Eastern U.S.
Residence near a major airport east of the Mississippi preferred, although other locations may be considered for the right individual.
