Position Overview

The Inspector works with minimal supervision to provide inspection services to Magnolia River clients. Compensation is based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all client safety policies and procedures to ensure safe working environments.
  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce client systems to ensure set standards are followed.
  • Maintain high levels of efficiency in time management, scheduling, and responsibilities.
  • Exercise accountability with precise attention to detail.
  • Understand and adhere to client scope of work.
  • Read, understand, and review job site packet drawings for accurate installation.
  • Provide accurate daily documentation to clients.
  • Attend required meetings, including safety, pre-construction, client, inspection, and management.
  • Interview residential customers door to door as required, addressing concerns, taking photos, noting damage, and informing customers of issues before construction.
  • Use innovative technology to maintain daily living documents.
  • Obtain crew list and confirm Operator Qualification (OQ) prior to and during the project.
  • Collaborate with contractors to resolve jobsite issues.
  • Document progress daily in Field

    LogIQ following SOP requirements.
  • Provide consultative feedback to the Client based on field conditions.
  • Visually inspect welds and fusions on all fittings and joints and verify adherence to manufacturer and client procedures.
  • Complete all required documentation (OQ list, completion report, as-built install and retirement drawings, material list, anode cards, pressure test charts, service data, etc.) within allotted time frames.
  • Maintain valid Operator Qualifications as required by the Client.
  • Demonstrate professionalism with excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Travel extensively as required across the country’s regions.
  • Adapt to different climates, situations, and environments.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and orally.
  • Comply with all safety policies and report incidents, near misses, accidents, or injuries per the Event Reporting Guidelines.
  • Assist the Inspection Manager in training new inspectors.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Read and understand construction prints; sketch drawings or use software for constructions diagrams.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation during construction.
  • Adhere to safety standards and proactively reduce safety risks.
  • Pay attention to detail and maintain high accuracy.
  • Build credibility and relationships quickly with a wide range of individuals.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Meet project deadlines.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the natural gas industry preferred.
  • Experience with visual inspection of steel pipe welds and polyethylene pipe fusions, reading construction prints, and completing as-built drawings preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a car or truck.
  • Hands‑on construction experience desired.
  • Read, write, and speak English effectively.
Physical Demands
  • Ambulatory; moderate physical activity including walking, climbing, bending, and working on uneven surfaces.
  • Primarily outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions.
  • Perform moderate to somewhat strenuous daily activities.
  • Work in loud, active construction environments.
  • Communicate accurately with co‑workers and clients.
