Job Title

HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician

Administers preventive maintenance and repairs for all heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment including lubrication, changing filters, cleaning coils, adjustment of dampers and controls, and changing motors and fans. Flexible work shifts are required.

The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization.

• Maintains preventative maintenance program and completes documentation as required. (Daily, 35%)
• Perform water treatment testing for all open and closed loops – report deficiencies to associated HVAC Technician. (Daily, 20%)
• Changes air filters and lubricates equipment as required. (Daily, 10%)
• Completes work orders and requests as assigned and maintains daily work log. (Daily, 10%)
• Provides support for other departments as required. (Daily, 5%)
• Covers for HVAC technician during vacation periods. (Daily, 5%)
• Log equipment performance as required. (Daily, 5%)
• Keep equipment clean and free of obstacles. (Daily, 5%)
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested. (Daily, 5%)

The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position.

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or institutional HVAC systems.
• Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.
• Colorado driver’s license.
