Tessera is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Interior Electrician to support facility operations s role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment across a range of commercial and industrial environments. The Electrician ensures all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Colorado state licensing standards, and Department of Defense (DoD) safety protocols. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a secure, mission-critical setting.
TypicalDuties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Inspect, test, and diagnose electrical systems including lighting, motors, generators, and intercommunication systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lighting systems, including lamp and ballast replacement, fixture cleaning, and re-lamping.
- Install and repair outlets, switches, circuit breakers, sensors, and ground fault interrupters.
- Plan and lay out electrical work using diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and associated costs
- Perform lockout/tagout as required.
- Operate lift equipment to service lighting and elevated electrical systems.
- Perform minor electrical installations and upgrades in accordance with NEC standards.
- Distinguish wire colors and ensure proper connections during installations and repairs.
- Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and arc flash protocol.
- Perform on-call/standby work as needed.
- Perform general maintenance tasks and support other trades as assigned.
- Work from ladders, man lifts, and in confined spaces or adverse weather condition.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems
- Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License in good standing
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and NEC standards
- Familiarity with motors, generators, lighting systems, and control panels
- Experience working on federal or military installations preferred
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
