Job Description Summary Weld County Department of Human Services (WCDHS) visitation services are designed to actively monitor, assess, and assist in the overall adult/child interactions between parent/relative/caregiver and child(ren) with the intent to improve the quality of the relationship and to expedite and/or maintain the reunification of a family. The Family Time Worker I will intervene in the structure of the parent/child relationship by using several evidence-based interventions to provide parents with the tools to care for their children safely and effectively.
Primary office location is in Greeley but includes some travel throughout Weld County. Reliable and predictable attendance within designated scheduled hours. Appointments with clients may be held at the Family Time Center, in the family home or in a neutral community location. This position is in-person and is not eligible for consistent telework arrangements. This position is 40 hours per week.

Days and hours will be determined based on business needs. Work may involve time away from a standard office environment, which may consist of driving to and from appointments at the client's home and in transporting children. Work may occur in client's homes, which could be considered a hostile or unsanitary environment. After hours and on call work situations may occur on occasion to provide support to families that need services outside of normal business hours.

Job Description
** Family Time Coaching, Intervention, and Skills Training - 70%
*** Provide monitored and supervised family time sessions and orientations on site, in the community and in-home.
* Provide in-the-moment interventions that uphold the child’s physical and emotional safety as well as the FTC policies and guidelines.
* Provide parent education either formally through structured curriculum, or informally through interventions and modeling, for each case.
* Create goals with clients using strength-based engagement techniques.
* Develop rapport with parents and learns about their family culture/values and work to identify dysfunctional family relationships, cross-generational patterns and trauma experiences which are negatively impacting the safety of the child(ren). This could include parenting or family time assessments.
* Promote progress towards permanency in cases.
* Thoroughly document progress of parent and parent child relationships and participate as an active part of the treatment team by making recommendations on treatment planning, permanency goals, and placement recommendations.
* Ensure documentation is uploaded in appropriate data bases by dictated timelines.
** Collaboration - 25%
*** Attend family engagement meetings, group supervisions, staff meetings, staff training, regular supervisory meetings, and other agency or community meetings as requested.
* Maintain and increase knowledge and skills through attendance to meetings, conferences, training seminars and in-service training sessions.
* Testify at corresponding hearings in a clear and concise manner.
* Work closely with the assistant county attorneys to ensure they have the latest updates on the case and that you are prepared for court hearing.
* Provide coverage for other Family Time Workers.
* ICPC case assignments.
* Diligent Search assignments.
* Upkeep/organization of the Family Time Center.
** Policies and Procedures - 5%
*** Understand and implement rules and regulations for Child Welfare organizations in Colorado outlined in the State of Colorado Department of Human Services Volume 7 guidelines.
