Family Advocate – Ameri Corps HIPPY Program (Temporary or Seasonal) – Greeley, CO.

The Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is an evidence‑based program that works in‑home with families supporting parents in their critical role as their child’s first teacher. This early learning and literacy home‑visiting program is available to families with children aged 2 to 5 years old.

• Participate in planning, organizing, and logistically supporting education, coalition, and/or advisory council events and outreach.
• Assist in recruiting through networking with coalitions, agencies, volunteers, and family participants for community and educational activities.
• Teach prevention and/or parenting curriculum and participate in all assigned HIPPY family education and learning events/groups.
• Engage in regular home and community visits to provide individualized education based on program participant needs.
• Complete all required components of the HIPPY curriculum, including role‑plays, practice, and mentoring with enrolled parents.
• Complete pre‑ and post‑ assessments with enrolled children.
• Maintain family records and enter data within required timelines.
• Assist in evaluation efforts, including distributing and collecting community knowledge, customer satisfaction, and pre/post‑test surveys.
• Maintain effective working relationships with other community‑based groups in Weld County and participate in cross‑agency activities, as assigned.
• Perform meeting moderation, note‑taking functions, and other administrative functions in support of coalition and education activities.
• Complete, file, and maintain hard‑copy and electronic paperwork relevant to the program.
• Participate in internal, community, and inter‑agency meetings and training as assigned; must be available to attend required training Tuesdays from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

• Are at least 18 years old at the start of service.
• Are a high school graduate, GED recipient, or working toward attaining a high school diploma or GED during the term of service and obtain it before using an education award.
• Are a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Can pass a National Service Criminal History Check (state, FBI, and National Sex Offender Public Website checks) per 45 CFR .
• Read, write, and speak the primary language of families impacted and have adequate English for trainings.
• Have experience with parent and family education in home, community, and other settings (preferred).

This is a half‑time national and community service position requiring, at minimum, a total of 900 hours during the year (approximately 25‑28 hours per week). Scheduled work hours may vary; typical hours are 8:30am–5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional later hours for events or meetings. Position begins on September1,2026 and ends on June
15,2027.
