Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer
Job Description
At Point Central, we are creating a world where property managers can spend their time focusing on the people who make their communities thrive rather than routine administrative, operational, and maintenance tasks.
As a Senior Software Engineer on Point Central's Property Manager Interfaces team, you will work with a small team of full‑stack developers to build exciting new features for our platform to help property managers effectively and efficiently manage their portfolios. Our team works in areas such as improving the self‑guided touring experience for prospective residents and property managers (including finding ways to reduce fraud!)
and creating new interfaces such as dashboards to allow property managers to easily perform their routine tasks and gain insights into their properties. Alongside other developers, you’ll collaborate closely with our Product Management and Business teams to drive the technical discovery, design, and implementation of large‑scale applications, products, and platforms.
Our software development includes working on backend services, websites, and database design that make‑up our whole ecosystem.
DAY-TODAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop full stack software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies, with a focus on front‑end development.
- Take part in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment with lots of cross‑team collaboration.
- Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging project goals.
- Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution.
- Bring your ideas! We want our engineers to collaborate on product development, not blindly build to a spec.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience leading and/or mentoring other engineers
- Experience with JavaScript development using an established JS framework, such as Ember, Angular or React
- Experience with HTML and CSS
- Experience with JavaScript build tools (e.g. Gulp) and testing frameworks (e.g. Mirage)
- Experience with object‑oriented programming; C# a plus
- Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests
- Exposure to Type Script
- Exposure to Web API design
- Ability to communicate well within a team environment and work independently on self‑directed tasks
- Ability to self‑learn
We would love it if you have some of the experience below (but it is okay if you don't!):
- Experience with database design and development
- Experience working with high‑availability, high‑throughput services
- Experience with external facing APIs and/or third‑party platform integrations
- Familiarity with distributed event streaming platforms, such as Kafka
- Experience building enterprise‑level systems
We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every one of the qualifications listed. We understand talented people have a mixture of background experience and can learn new technologies and languages.
COMPANY BENEFITS
- Competitive pay and benefits inclusive of subsidized medical plan options, an HSA with generous company contribution, a 401(k) with employer match, and paid holidays, wellness time, and vacation increasing with tenure.
- Paid maternity and bonding leave, company‑paid disability and life insurance, FSAs, well‑being resources and activities, and a casual dress work environment.
Pay Range: $115,000—$160,000 USD
