Salary and BenefitsSalary: $26.09 per hour, possible increase to $41.81 per hour for eligible internal transfers and recent rehires. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and employee assistance program.
Contract Length260 days annually.

Job SummaryThe individual is responsible for data entry to track vehicle mileage for all district vehicles, performing clerical tasks to support shop and department operations, and substituting as a driver on assigned routes as needed.
Essential Functions- Enter and maintain vehicle mileage records accurately for CDE reporting and district billing.
- Compile and provide monthly and annual mileage reports.
- Maintain records, documentation, and data necessary for department operations.
- Utilize district software systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace to perform assigned duties.
- Drive assigned morning, mid‑day, afternoon, activity, and field trip routes.
- Provide transportation coverage to support operational requirements.
- Assist in planning and facilitating monthly and annual transportation in‑service trainings.
- Pick up and deliver parts and supplies for fleet maintenance.
- Maintain shop vehicle cleanliness and fuel levels.
- Assist with inventory management and organization of supplies and parts.
- Assist with tracking and documentation of purchases made with district purchasing cards.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, including trash removal and general organization.
- Supervise summer cleaning and wash bay crews when the Driver/Other – Upholstery and Bus Detailing position is absent.
- Maintain records and documentation related to crew activities.
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff, students, families, and community members.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Work additional hours as necessary to support department operations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Colorado Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with P‑2, S, and Air Brake endorsements.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Three (3) years of school bus driving experience (waivable by the Director of Transportation).
- Current CDE School Bus Driver Certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
- CPI Certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
- CPR/First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
- Brake Certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Dependable, punctual, and flexible.
- Ability to operate various district vehicles, including those with standard transmissions.
- Ability to learn and utilize department‑specific software and systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, parents, and community members.

- Function effectively in a busy environment with frequent interruptions and radio traffic.
- Work under fluorescent lighting and in shop environments.
Local travel may be required for district business, school events, field trips, and training activities.
