Compensation and Benefits- Base Pay: Proposed hiring rate of $26.50 to $29.70+, adjusted based on experience.

The Vehicle Maintenance Technician 2 performs preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), failure analysis and troubleshooting on buses, trucks, vans, heavy equipment and snowcats and ensures resulting repairs of Copper Mountain's fleet. Provides maximum safe vehicle availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform PMIs and resulting repairs in accordance with Powdr Copper Mountain's Department of Vehicle Maintenance guidelines and standards on all fleet vehicles, ensuring maximum safe vehicle availability with minimized costs.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, design, modify and complete failure analysis on fleet vehicles including buses, trucks, vans and snowcats.
- Operate all fleet vehicles to evaluate results of previously performed maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area to provide a safe working environment.
- Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License of B class with air brakes and a P2 endorsement.
- Manage inventory, repair and clean up for areas such as tires, paint & body, welding, fuel inventory, lube supplies/hazardous materials, general shop equipment and hydraulics.
- Accurately record daily activities on work orders, indirect labor logs and parts requisition to support department operations.
- Consult manuals, trade publications, trade associations, vendors, employees, outside schools and training programs to stay up-to-date in new maintenance technologies and improve efficiency.
- Maintain consistent contact with fellow Vehicle Maintenance employees, occasional contact with operating department employees and vendors.
- Five to seven years of experience in Vehicle Maintenance or three to five years with a certificate of completion in Automotive Diesel Technology School including a minimum of 1000 clock hours.
- Proficiency with major preventive maintenance repairs on all Powdr Copper Mountain fleet (excluding specialty tools).
- Basic welding experience.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, hydrostatic drive systems, hydraulic systems, light truck and van computer systems (emissions, airbags, antilock brakes), and gas and diesel engine systems.
- Ability to train co‑workers and run day‑to‑day shop operations in the absence of Foremen and Manager.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Maintain accurate verbal and written communication skills.
- Read and write English language.
