The Accountant position at RGL Logistics is primarily focused on accounts payable and employee expense report processing, including payroll processing, and supports general accounting and month‑end close activities. We’re seeking someone who takes ownership, learns new systems quickly, and contributes to process improvements as our tools and workflows evolve.
Essential Functions- Process accounts payable invoices and employee expense reports accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate with internal leaders and departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth and timely AP workflows
- Process payroll, including data review, reconciliations, and related accounting entries
- Perform variance analysis to identify and research discrepancies between the general ledger and supporting subledgers
- Assist with review and analysis of expense allocations by business unit and department; identify and communicate areas needing clarification or adjustment
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency within AP, payroll, and related accounting processes
- Provide backup coverage to others in the department, follow all safety rules and guidelines as it pertains to the position, and perform other duties as assigned
- 2-year associate degree required, 4-year accounting degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred; accounts payable, expense processing, and/or payroll experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and deliver accurate work consistently
- Analytical mindset with experience or exposure to variance analysis, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting allocation analysis
- Comfortable learning new accounting systems and adapting to process and technology changes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal
