Job Description
The Buyer II will play a crucial role in managing supplier relationships and ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services. This position involves maintaining supplier databases, requesting quotes, and negotiating pricing and delivery terms to achieve mutually beneficial solutions. The successful candidate will build and maintain a robust supplier base, ensuring quality and on-time delivery while striving for cost reductions.
- Enter and maintain supplier database information in the business management system.
- Request quotes from multiple suppliers and negotiate to achieve favorable pricing and delivery terms.
- Build and maintain a supplier base by selecting suppliers based on price, lead time, and quantity.
- Create, follow up, and expedite supplier purchase orders or purchase requisitions accurately.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, including current, new, and potential suppliers.
- Maintain assigned supplier scorecards, investigate responses, and develop strategic improvements as directed.
- Document, measure, and collaborate with suppliers to enhance performance in product quality and on-time delivery.
- Audit supplier procedures and documentation in alignment with ISO requirements.
- Address product and service issues by working with suppliers to find solutions.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems for daily tasks.
- Research potential new suppliers while nurturing existing relationships.
- Conduct cost analysis for current and future products and suppliers.
- Ensure a continuous supply of goods and materials, communicating any potential risks to business operations.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to reduce costs while maintaining or improving the quality of goods and services.
- Monitor market trends and competitor strategies to inform procurement strategies.
- Develop innovative procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers, conducting performance reviews to ensure compliance and drive improvements.
