The Manager – Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Construction provides functional leadership and direction to all construction associates across assigned markets. This role is responsible for driving efficient, high‑quality project delivery—ensuring fiber construction builds are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with TDS standards. The Manager – OSP Fiber Construction serves as a key technical resource while maintaining a high level of professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead and develop Construction teams across assigned markets, creating a high-performing and engaged culture.
- Oversee end‑to‑end execution of OSP fiber construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Direct activities for proper placement and construction of OSP facilities while managing timelines, budgets, and project documentation.
- Partner closely with Network Services (NS) Outside Plant Engineering (OSPE) and Outside Plant Construction (OSPC) teams to drive efficient builds and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical expertise across fiber construction methods, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with TDS policies, industry regulations, and OSHA safety standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for OSP construction projects and resolve customer or project escalations.
- Coach and guide teams through process improvements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners.

- Provide leadership to direct team and all other teams involved in OSP Construction activities, creating and maintaining a motivating and rewarding environment.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all adjacent teams. Provide direct feedback with relation to OSP Construction builds to peer network services and construction teams, ensuring efficiencies of builds and production.
- Direct activities necessary for the proper placement of OSP facilities while monitoring project budgets, timelines, and records updates.
- Assist network services teams in executing plans and/or processes tied to our overall business plan that will ensure high‑quality service is delivered to all TDS customers through timely OSP build completion and customer readiness.
- Ensure compliance with all TDS policies, processes and procedures. Develop, implement and monitor OSP construction policies as needed to ensure continued safety while performing OSP builds.
- Ensure team maintains proper understanding of TDS goals and is coached through process improvements as those needs arise.
- Serve as the management point of contact for all TDS internal construction OSP project builds, and customer‑related issues in specific market(s).
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher OR 4+ years professional work experience.
- 4+ years’ experience in the telecommunications industry.
- 4+ years in a supervisory role or equivalent leadership experience.
