Concrete Foreman
Immel Construction is seeking an experienced and reliable Concrete Foreman to oversee concrete work on construction sites. The Concrete Foreman will lead crews in the preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete for foundations, slabs, walls, sidewalks, curbs, and other structural components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete construction and the leadership skills necessary to manage crews and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and coordinate daily activities of concrete crew in coordination with onsite Superintendent.
- Review site logistics and planning with Superintendent.
- Coordinate manpower requests with onsite Superintendent.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to determine work requirements.
- Set forms, place reinforcing steel, pour, level, and finish concrete.
- Inspect work areas and ensure all tasks meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Prepare for and monitor material usage and coordinate with suppliers and project managers.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Conduct pre-pour checklist and post-poor inspection.
- Train and mentor team members to improve performance and skill sets.
- Communicate effectively with onsite Superintendent, subcontractors, and other trades.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school certification a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete construction with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in outdoor and potentially hazardous environments.
