About Walbec Group

The Position

Northeast Asphalt is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to work as part of quarry operations providing onsite load‑out of finished product. The operator will run a variety of construction equipment safely and efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment safely and productively.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance and inspections of onsite equipment.
  • Monitor onsite pumps and dewatering equipment.
  • Communicate plant‑site issues with Mine Management while performing daily inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work site, including shoveling and skid‑steer operation.
  • Provide a professional and courteous attitude and deliver good customer service.
  • Follow all proper safety procedures, including incident reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Punctuality and dependability.
  • Advanced loader experience in a mine environment.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and willingness to follow company policies and laws.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal oversight.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Availability for varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Some welding, fabrication, and repair experience preferred.
  • Ability to tolerate variable weather conditions and work in dirty/dusty environments.
  • Union membership or willingness to join a trade union is required; union membership may not be required prior to employment.
