Long-Term Sub (March – end of school year)
Xavier Catholic Schools is looking for a Learning Services Teacher to cover a long-term sub position from March – end of the school year. In this role, the individual is responsible for for providing services to students with unique learning needs and service plans, working with teachers to develop accommodations and interventions, and overseeing the Learning Services relationship with public school districts.

- Attend retreats, seminars and small group discussions where faith is discussed; lead a personal and professional lifestyle that models a believing, practicing Catholic
- Understands, represents, commits to and implements the mission and philosophy of our school.
- Maintain ongoing communication with teachers to identify students who may have special needs as early as possible in their education.
- Coordinate the completion of evaluation packets and forward them to appropriate professionals and agencies in a timely manner.
- Review diagnostic evaluation reports received from qualified professionals.
- Obtain appropriate exchange of information forms to enable effective communication among the school, the family, and professionals outside of the school.
- Communicate with professionals who have conducted diagnostic evaluations to review the results of assessments, to plan interventions based on those assessments, and to evaluate progress.
- Maintain regular communication with professionals outside the school who provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to students who have special needs.
- Provide effective professional development for faculty regarding general and specific needs issues and topics.
- Maintain information regarding services and resources available from professional agencies in the community and communicate this information with families.
- Assist parents with obtaining services and resources from professional agencies outside the school.
- Assist students and their families with strategies for advocating for themselves and for compensating for special needs as appropriate.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials, technology and equipment
- Provide a secure student centered learning atmosphere, which encourages and challenges student development spiritually, academically, physical, emotionally, and socially
- Participate and support school and system fundraising events; department, school, diocesan and parent meetings and other professional and co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Cooperate with the principal in fulfilling professional responsibilities throughout the school
