Our NAEYC‑accredited programs are grounded in High Scope Curriculum and Conscious Discipline, with on‑site supports that allow educators to focus on meaningful teaching and relationship-based care.
What You’ll DoAs an Early Childhood Educator at Encompass, you will:
- Create nurturing, engaging learning environments that support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Implement the High Scope Curriculum through active learning, observation, and assessment
- Use Conscious Discipline strategies to foster safe, respectful, and inclusive classrooms
- Build strong partnerships with children and families
- Maintain developmentally appropriate, high‑quality learning environments
- Collaborate with Center Directors, fellow educators, and advocates
- Participate in ongoing professional growth
- High school diploma required
- Two non‑credit early childhood courses completed preferred
- Interest in early childhood education and a desire to continue learning and growing in the field
- Associate degree in early childhood, child development, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degrees in unrelated fields are welcome to apply
- Classroom experience and understanding of developmentally appropriate, relationship‑based practice preferred

Compensation- Assistant Teachers: $15.00–$20.00 per hour (2 credits in ECE or both DCF‑approved non‑credit course in ECE). Pay based on education, experience, and Registry level
- Lead Teachers: $18.00–$24.00 per hour (associate’s degree or higher in ECE or related field). Pay based on education, experience, and Registry level
