- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have one of the following:
- Associate degree in Automotive Servicing or in a closely related degree from an accredited college
- High school diploma with an Associate degree plan (Plan to obtain an Associate degree in a related field within five (5) years of hire date. Fifty percent of the degree to be completed within the first three (3) years of hire and the remaining fifty percent completed by the end of the fifth year.)

Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of full-time or equivalent (14,000 hours) experience in the field as a professional Automotive Service Technician at a dedicated Automotive Service Facility. In addition, one of the following must be met:
One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent two (2) semesters full-time or four (4) semesters part-time – per State of Wisconsin Legislature Administrative Code TCS3 3.04.
Industry or vendor certification- Must hold current ASE Master Technician certification in areas A1-A8 & G1 along with Federal section 609 MVAC certification or Master Tech Certification from a manufacturer dealership with plans to complete ASE certification in A1-A8 & G1 and 609 MVAC certification within six (6) months of hire date.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record sufficient to be insured by MATC.
- Must successfully complete an online defensive driving course within the first year of hire.
