Job DutiesThe University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Human Biology program is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor of Microbiology. The successful applicant will enhance UW‑Green Bay’s mission‑driven inclusive teaching efforts and create an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
Key Job Responsibilities- Teaching a course load of 27 credits (approximately 9 courses) per academic year in Microbiology with opportunities to teach other courses in the Human Biology program.
- Additional teaching assignments may include introductory and upper‑level courses such as Microbiology, Mycology, Parasitology, and Immunology in Human Biology.
- Service responsibilities include advising students and contributing to departmental and institutional development.

Required Qualifications- Earned Master’s degree (or higher) in Microbiology or a related field by the beginning date of appointment.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, commitment to undergraduate education, and strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues.
- At least two years of college teaching experience.
- PhD in Microbiology.
The home campus is Green Bay; the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc campuses based on operational needs. This is a full‑time, academic‑year Instructional Academic Staff appointment. Pre‑employment checks, including verification of academic credentials and a criminal conviction investigation, will be conducted on finalists.
