CHRISTIAN FORMATION COORDINATOR
MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL, CONFIRMATION

Job Description: Directs the development and implementation of Christian Formation Program for Middle School, grades 6, 7, 8, High School, grades 9 and 10, and Confirmation Grade 11. The below description is expected to take 1,040 hrs./year or 20 hrs./week to accomplish.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, trains and supervise catechists.
- Attends Christian Formation Committee meetings and prepares agenda and minutes.
- Works with Christian Formation Committee and staff to research and develop programs/policies.
- Travel/shop or order items/materials needed for class sessions.
- Research and recruit speakers.
- Prepare material for in-service/meetings.
- Provide and coordinate service project opportunities.
- Prepare for class sessions including prayer and service projects.
- Develop safe environment program for middle school and high school.
- Correspondence with parents, catechists, youth.
- Budget preparation.
- Attend staff and professional development meetings.
- Develop and prepare all aspects of Confirmation.
- Active, practicing member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community in good standing.
- Experience working with and teaching youth preferred.
- Background in religious studies preferred.
- Excellent communication skills; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be well organized and a team player.
- Successfully complete a background check.
- Must be flexible and willing to work some evenings and weekends.
