26/27 School Year | $32-$45/hour | Full-Time | Green Bay, WI | Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) licensure required

About the Role:

As an Educational Sign Language Interpreter with Point Quest, you'll be the bridge that gives deaf and hard of hearing students full access to their classrooms. Working across K-12 settings, you'll interpret instruction, discussions, and activities between spoken English and sign, using ASL, Signing Exact English, or the modality that best fits each student, so they can participate fully alongside their peers.

You'll partner closely with teachers, the special education team, and families to make sure communication is seamless throughout the school day. It's meaningful, hands-on work with a direct, visible impact on a student's ability to learn and connect.

What You'll Do:

Provide accurate, real-time interpretation services (e.g., ASL, Signed English) for students in classroom instruction, small groups, assemblies, and school events

Adapt communication methods to match each student’s language needs, preferences, and IEP accommodations

Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure instructional content is accessible and delivered effectively

Support student independence by facilitating communication without altering the content or intent of the message

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insight on communication access and student progress

Prepare for instructional content by reviewing materials in advance to ensure accurate and effective interpretation

Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families to support a collaborative and inclusive school environment

What We're Looking For:

Must Have Eligibility for or possession of a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Educational Interpreter License Passing Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score meeting Wisconsin DPI requirements

Completion of an accredited Interpreter Training Program Associates Degree – Child Development or related field

Department of Justice/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance)
Eligibility to work in the United States Preferred Registry  of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (NIC, CI/CT, or recognized legacy credentials)
Wisconsin BEI certification

Prior experience interpreting in a K–12 school setting

Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational interpreting best practice

Experience working with students with diverse learning and communication needs

Understanding of Deaf culture and the educational needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
