Job Description & How to Apply Below

Yesmin Academy is an in-person tutoring practice for high school students in Green Bay. We do one thing: math. Algebra through calculus, taught face-to-face, in one-to-one and small-group sessions where students get personalized tutoring carefully catered for their needs. Our tutoring is results-driven, stats-backed, and research-backed.

We're early. That means the person in this role helps shape how we teach. We will participate in curriculum development, classroom innovation, and onboarding future tutors, all for the purpose of developing a kind, productive, and enjoyable classroom experience for our students.

The role

We're hiring our first full-time Lead Math Tutor: a licensed teacher who will carry a full teaching load, mentor our part-time undergraduate tutors, and help build the materials our students learn from.

If the teaching itself is the part you love, and the paperwork, hall duty, and 32-student classrooms are the parts you don't, this is a version of the job that's mostly the good part.

What you'll do
  • Teach high school math in person:
Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus, one-to-one and in small groups
  • Mentor our part-time college-student tutors: model sessions, observe theirs, give real feedback
  • Contribute to curriculum and materials, diagnostics, problem sets, session plans
  • Track student progress and keep families informed about what's improving and what isn't
  • Develop future content/courses for website
  • Create short weekly educational content for social media
What we're looking for
  • A current teaching license or certification applicable in Wisconsin
  • Confident command of the full high school math sequence, through calculus II
  • Experience teaching or tutoring high school students
  • Patient, clear communication, willingness to learn and adapt in one's teaching methodologies
  • Reliable weekday and weekend evening availability, since that is when classes will be held
Nice to have
  • Experience mentoring or training other teachers or tutors
Compensation

$22-28 per hour
