The Department of Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Organizational and Strategic Communication. The successful candidate will help prepare the next generation of communicators through innovative teaching, meaningful scholarship, and community engagement while contributing to the department’s cutting-edge Media Hub and its award-winning student media initiatives.
Candidates with professional experience in related fields such as Organizational Communication, Human Resources, or other communication-centered professions are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Organizational and Strategic Communication in both online and in-person formats; develop new coursework aligned with their expertise; mentor and advise students; maintain an active research agenda involving student and faculty collaboration; and contribute to program development, institutional service, and outreach with local businesses and nonprofit organizations. Job Responsibilities:
- Teach lower- and upper-level courses (both online and in person) in Organizational and Strategic Communication.
- Courses could include Organizational Communication, Cases in Communication and Media Management, and Persuasion and Argumentation, as well as new courses in the successful applicant’s specific field of study.
- Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay
- Develop a strong research program involving collaboration with students and/or faculty.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
- Perform institutional and community service, including outreach and networking with local businesses and non-profit organizations.
- Contribute to ongoing program development.
- Contribute to multiple emphases within the department.

Compensation:
Competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in Communication or closely related field from an accredited institution by the end of the academic year. Candidates who have not completed their doctorate by the start date will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire.
