Summary – basic function of the role
As a Machinist, you will play a key role in delivering precision machining services to our clients across onshore and offshore sites. You will carry out flange facing, milling, pipe cutting, drilling, and other onsite field machining activities to the highest industry standards, often in challenging environments. This role offers variety, excellent earning potential, and clear pathways for career progression.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform on-site machining operations including flange facing (RF, RTJ & Hub connectors), Pipe Cutting & Bevelling, Milling and Drilling /Tapping using a wide range of portable machining equipment.
- Complete bolting activities in line with TMJI 10,11 18,19 & 20 standard.
- Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and within client specifications.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture by following all health and safety procedures.
- Work with onshore Operations and Projects team to ensure all work scopes are planned, prepared and delivered to the highest of standards.
- Work effectively as part of a project team, both onshore and offshore, across the UK and internationally.
Education and Experience
Essential Experience &
Skills:
- Proven machining experience, ideally in energy or heavy industry sectors.
- Competency in:
- Flange facing (RF & RTJ flanges and Hub Connectors)
- Pipe cutting and bevelling
- Milling
- Drilling and Tapping
- Bolting – TMJI 10,11,19 & 20 ( TMJI 18 advantageous)
- Ability to work offshore, onshore, and overseas customer locations
- Ensure all HSSEQ rules and regulations are communicated and enforced throughout the Organization. Proactively participate to safety awareness and improvement.
- Flexible attitude and willingness to mobilise when required often at short notice.
- Coaching and mentoring of junior or less experienced Field Service technicians
- Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, MIST, medicals, etc.)
- Pass ongoing competency assessments at required frequency to retain competency and grade.
- Fluent in written and verbal English communication skills is required; all other languages are advantageous.
- Ability to read and write technical reports, and understand technical drawings
- Full Driving license
Desirable:
- Heat Exchanger Machining experience
- Experience in portable CNC milling machines, such as GeniSYS IV or equivalent.
