Role DescriptionThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-voltage transmission projects, including overhead transmission lines (69kV–500kV+), transmission substations, and grid interconnection infrastructure.
This role leads execution across EPC transmission projects, managing schedule, cost, constructability, and field operations to ensure safe, compliant, and on-time delivery of large-scale capital transmission programs for utilities and EPC contractors.
You will coordinate closely with utility clients, transmission engineers, ISOs/RTOs, ROW teams, and construction contractors to deliver complex grid infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Lead execution of high-voltage transmission line and transmission substation projects
- Manage full EPC lifecycle delivery for transmission infrastructure
- Develop and maintain Primavera P6 schedules with critical path and outage sequencing
- Oversee transmission project cost estimating, forecasting, and capital budget control
- Manage transmission construction activities, subcontractors, and field execution
- Coordinate right-of-way (ROW), permitting, and environmental compliance activities
- Lead utility coordination, outage planning, and system integration requirements
- Manage change orders, claims, and EPC contract administration
- Conduct constructability reviews, field walkdowns, and progress reporting
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NERC standards (transmission reliability), and utility safety requirements
- Identify and mitigate project risks including outage constraints, permitting delays, and long-lead equipment impacts
- 10+ years of project management and estimating in the electrical industry
- Proven experience delivering transmission lines and/or transmission substations (69kV–500kV+)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Project scheduling and cost control
- Reading construction drawings and specifications
- Communication and stakeholder coordination
