Electrical Project Engineer – Green Bay
Georgia Pacific Consumer Products Division is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Green Bay Operations team. The role focuses on implementing projects in the converting and shipping areas, from concept to design, installation, commissioning, and optimization.
The candidate will use engineering expertise for electrical design, PLC programming, VFDs and HMIs, and solve complex problems to support customers in operations.
Our TeamThe Green Bay Operations Engineering team includes electrical, mechanical, process, and reliability groups that collaborate in the same office area. The role is local to Green Bay, Wisconsin, at the Broadway facility; remote work is not routine.
What You Will Do- Partner with manufacturing engineers during the conceptual phase to assess feasibility.
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope, deliverables, and execution strategies.
- Develop engineering and capital cost estimates and schedules for the electrical portions of projects.
- Manage multiple projects in different phases concurrently.
- Perform detailed design engineering using innovative thinking.
- Provide safety and reliability solutions upfront in every project.
- Review and verify engineering standards for OEM supplied equipment.
- Prepare bid packages for project installations.
- Identify project risks and assist in mitigating impacts.
- Apply economic analysis when evaluating alternatives, equipment, vendors, and contractors.
- Provide field support on major milestones: engineering, construction, startup, and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent experience of at least 5 years in engineering or similar role in manufacturing.
- Academic or professional experience with Industrial Control Systems (PLCs, VFDs, HMIs).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering.
- Project Management experience in forecasting, budgeting, and project closeout.
- Knowledge of industrial controls such as Rockwell Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, Ignition, Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix drives, Cognex vision systems, Ethernet/IP, device
Net, Control Net. - Experience interpreting and applying NFPA and OSHA requirements for electrical safe work practices.
