The ideal candidate has experience designing electrical control panels, creating schematics and wiring diagrams, selecting components, and ensuring compliance with industry safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of material for custom equipment and automated systems.
- Utilize AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design software to create and maintain electrical documentation.
- Select and size electrical components including motors, drives, PLC hardware, sensors, safety devices, and network equipment.
- Support the design and integration of industrial control systems for manufacturing and process automation applications.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, customer specifications, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, programmers, and project managers throughout the design process.
- Review designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and ease of installation.
- Assist with troubleshooting design-related issues during panel assembly, machine commissioning, and startup activities.
- Maintain design standards, documentation, and revision controls throughout project execution.
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, Automation Technology, or a related field.
- Experience creating electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
- Understanding of industrial controls, PLC systems, motor controls, sensors, HMIs, and drive systems.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and code requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
