Payroll Specialist (Multi-State)
Green Bay, WI (Corporate Office) On-site position.
Home Instead is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Corporate Accounting/Finance team in Green Bay, WI. This role is responsible for supporting multi-state payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with our Care Professionals and internal teams, while supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Process new hires and employee changes across multiple locations and jurisdictions
- Review payroll records to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations
- Apply knowledge of multi-state payroll tax requirements, including withholding and reporting
- Process wage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and process corrections as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely payments by reviewing claims and resolving issues
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 35 years of payroll experience required
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax requirements preferred
- Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws preferred
- Experience supporting employees with payroll-related questions is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong Excel skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- UKG experience preferred
- Well Sky experience a plus

- Ability to interpret and apply payroll regulations across multiple jurisdictions
