Tax Analyst

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the company’s multi-state tax compliance efforts, with a primary focus on sales and use tax administration, compliance management, and indirect tax processes. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working with data, and collaborating across departments in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare and file multi-state sales/use tax and tire tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate compliance
• Collect, organize, analyze, and reconcile tax data used in monthly tax filings
• Review and maintain exemption and resale certificates to ensure proper tax treatment by jurisdiction
• Assist with sales tax product mapping and taxability reviews across states
• Research tax laws, rates, exemptions, and regulatory changes impacting company operations
• Partner with internal departments to resolve sales tax calculation issues and troubleshoot system errors
• Review notices from taxing jurisdictions and assist with audit support activities
• Prepare account reconciliations and support indirect tax reporting processes
• Assist with personal property tax filings, business licenses, annual reports, and 1099 reporting
• Support federal income tax work papers and related calculations
• Identify process improvements and opportunities for tax savings and compliance efficiencies
• Provide guidance to internal teams regarding taxability rules and compliance requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in sales/use tax, indirect tax, public accounting, or corporate accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP principles
• Experience with multi-state tax compliance is a plus
