Leveraged Finance Research Director

An opportunity is available for an experienced Leveraged Finance Research Director to lead fundamental credit research across leveraged finance sectors and issuers. This senior investment role is responsible for delivering forward‑looking credit analysis, relative value assessments, and investment recommendations that support portfolio performance and long‑term investment objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers, traders, research professionals, and cross‑functional teams while mentoring investment professionals and contributing to strategic decision‑making.

• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the research team while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Monitor industry trends, market developments, and macroeconomic factors affecting leveraged finance markets.
• Conduct in‑depth fundamental credit research on assigned issuers, including financial statement analysis, capital structure evaluation, management assessment, and credit risk analysis.
• Assess relative value opportunities across issuers, sectors, and capital structures.
• Develop investment recommendations based on credit fundamentals, portfolio objectives, and risk‑adjusted return potential.
• Produce high‑quality written research reports and present investment views to portfolio managers and traders.
• Build and maintain relationships with market participants, including research analysts, rating agencies, and company management teams.
• Support process improvements through the use of technology, data analytics, and automation.
• Respond to requests for market analysis, research, and investment insights.
• Participate in investment committee discussions and cross‑functional initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in leveraged finance, fixed income investing, credit research, or a related investment discipline.
• Strong expertise in fundamental credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and relative value investing.
• Demonstrated experience making investment recommendations within a total return investment framework.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing investment professionals.
• Excellent analytical, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Master's degree or MBA.
• CFA designation or progress toward obtaining the CFA charter.
• Experience with programming, data analytics, or financial technology tools.
