This position involves frequent weekly travel throughout our beautiful state to evaluate the financial condition of state-chartered banks, savings institutions and trust companies. Examiners work to safeguard depositor investments and ensure compliance of banks with state and federal regulations and administrative codes by conducting on-site reviews of records and evaluating financial affairs of banks in the State of Wisconsin.

All candidates hired into these positions will be assigned to a specific territory and will have their home designated as their headquarters city. All employees are generally expected to be headquartered and work within the State of Wisconsin. It is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin will be approved.
The incumbent must be willing and able to travel frequently throughout the State of Wisconsin.

Position Summary

Our small yet dynamic team is tasked with regulating all of Wisconsin’s state-chartered banks and trust companies for safety and soundness. Examinations are typically performed on location at each bank throughout the state and include the evaluation of the bank’s financial condition, profitability, quality of assets, management, operations and compliance with laws and regulations. The work environment is very fast paced with multiple competing deadlines and requires strong attention to detail, organization skills and significant collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.

On a weekly basis, examiners are responsible for conducting a thorough review of the bank’s financials, documents, records, and risk management practices related to the institution’s operations, preparing reports with recommendations for improvement and discussing findings with the lead examiner. Examination work is conducted through onsite reviews and discussions with bank management as well as through offsite financial and report analysis.

  • As an Entry level professional examiner,your responsibility is to assist the examiner-in-charge (lead examiner) and work under the guidance and mentorship of experienced examiners, trainers and supervisors until necessary training is completed. Travel requirements increase as you gain proficiency in exam tasks.
Salary Information

The Entry level position is in schedule-range (07-04) with a salary of $28.56 - $31.62 per hour, plus excellent benefits
