Job Summary: Operate and maintain high‑speed mail processing equipment, including inputting client information, setting up the Optical Character Reader (OCR), loading tray of mail, monitoring barcode quality, and packaging mail according to zip code. Also perform mail‑processing duties as needed, such as pulling mail from sorting bins.

• Input client information and configure OCR settings.
• Load full trays of mail onto the machine for processing.
• Monitor barcode quality in accordance with UMS quality‑control policies.
• Load, unload mail trays/tubs from USPS All‑Purpose Carriers and pallets.
• Package mail and/or label trays/tubs by zip code.
• Identify poor‑quality issues and make independent decisions to keep processing efficient and accurate.
• Simultaneously operate mail‑sorting equipment and pull back mail from sorting bins when required.

• Ability to lift 20–25 lb containers repetitively.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Can retrieve mail from processing equipment and place it in containers and packing containers as necessary, including twisting and turning of the upper body.
• General knowledge of software use and functionality of mail‑sorting equipment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of USPS mail‑preparation regulations.
• Ability to identify quality issues and make independent decisions.

Rate of Pay: Starting wage $14/hr, with possible shift/position premiums.
