Caregiver​/Direct Support Professional

Job Requirements and Responsibilities

• Assure the health, safety, and well-being of all clients.
• Administer positive behavioral redirection and encourage self-coping mechanisms.
• Assist with daily living activities as needed based on care plans.
• Assist with food preparation and cleaning as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, guardians, and staff.
• Complete daily logs and report inconsistencies.
• Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems; report and discuss observations with supervisor or case manager.
• Provide patients with assistance moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles and with dressing and grooming.
• Bathe patients.
• Care for patients by changing bed linens, washing and ironing laundry, cleaning, or assisting with personal care.
• Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to patients to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
• Provide patients and families with emotional support and instruction in areas such as caring for infants, preparing healthy meals, living independently, or adapting to disability or illness.
• Accompany clients to doctors' offices or other trips outside the home, providing transportation, assistance, and companionship.
• Change dressings.

• 18 years of age or older.
• Compassion for client care and wellbeing.
• Ability to prioritize multiple duties and responsibilities.
• Consent to background check.
• Driver’s license with 3 years of clean driving record preferred (not required).
