** About the Job:
** The unpaid Therapist Intern works closely with Social Services Department staff and assists in providing clinical services to patients and their families as required by the intern’s educational requirements.

* Roles and Responsibilities:

* · Assists clinicians in conducting various group therapies, including but not limited to trauma process groups, break work sessions, and 12-step group.
· Advanced students may have the opportunity to work with patients doing psychosocial assessments, crisis interventions and create/run their own groups.
· Identifies problems and creates interventions to facilitate patient’s transition back into the community.
· Conducts family therapy sessions.
· Maintains routine contact with referral sources and outpatient providers.
· Coordinates discharge and aftercare planning.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Working towards a Master’s Degree in Social Work or related counseling field from an accredited Master’s program required.
· Currently eligible for supervision leading to LCSW, LPC or LCPC.Veterans and military spouses are highly encouraged to apply.
