Description POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Breast Surgery team. This role offers a unique balance of clinical autonomy and surgical assisting. The successful candidate will work closely with our lead Breast Surgeon in the operating room while independently managing a dedicated clinic for high-risk patients and overseeing our Multidisciplinary High-Risk Breast Clinic and providing surgical follow-up.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESCLINICAL & HIGH-RISK MANAGEMENT
Independent Clinic: Maintain an autonomous clinical schedule focused on the longitudinal care of patients with benign breast disease and those at elevated risk for malignancy.
High-Risk Leadership: Lead and coordinate the Multidisciplinary High-Risk Clinic, integrating genetic counseling, advanced imaging protocols, and chemoprevention strategies.
Risk Assessment: Utilize and interpret risk-modeling tools (e.g., Tyrer-Cuzick, Gail Score) to develop personalized surveillance plans.
Diagnostics: Order and interpret diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and MRI; perform in-office procedures such as aspirations or biopsies as needed.
SURGICAL DUTIESFirst Assisting: Serve as the primary surgical assistant for breast oncology.
Perioperative Care: Manage pre-operative workups and post-operative recovery, including wound management, drain removal, and patient education.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- PA or NP Certification
- Licensed in the State of Wisconsin or willing to obtain license
