Payroll Specialist

Our client is an organization in the Waukesha County area that is looking for a Payroll Specialist
. This client is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. This company offers a collaborative team, flexibility, and professional growth & development. Remote-first role with periodic in-office collaboration; local candidates within commuting distance required.

The salary for this position is $65k - $85k.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local returns
• Maintain employee payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and garnishments
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions
• Assist with year-end processes, including W-2s and 1099s
• Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and company policies
• Support audits and internal controls related to payroll processes
• Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information

The Payroll Specialist will possess the following:

• 2+ years of payroll and payroll tax experience
• Comfortable in a client-facing environment with strong compliance knowledge
• Tech-forward and adaptable
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
