Applications Development Manager; Infor LX + IBM

Legacy systems don't have to mean legacy thinking. Our client is seeking a strategic Applications Development Manager (Infor LX + IBM i) to bridge the gap between robust IBM i architecture and the agile demands of a modern manufacturing leader.

This isn’t just a maintenance role; it’s a leadership mandate to optimize the Infor LX ecosystem and ensure the technical backbone of the company is built for scale.

The successful hire will be the primary architect of technical reliability and team performance. They will:

• Lead & Mentor: Manage a high-functioning team of developers and external partners, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
• Strategic Alignment: Act as the translator between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring every sprint delivers measurable ROI.
• System Stewardship: Own the lifecycle of the Infor LX and IBM i environments, from custom development and EDI standards to security and disaster recovery.
• Vendor Management: Navigate and optimize hardware and service contracts to ensure our client’s tech stack remains cost-effective and cutting-edge.
• Operational Excellence: Define and uphold service level expectations (SLEs) that keep internal operations running without a hitch.

• Platform Mastery: 7+ years of deep experience within Infor LX and IBM i environments.
• Technical Literacy: Proficient in IBM Power Systems, RPG, and DB2.
• Leadership Provenance: A track record of managing development teams and vendors through complex project life cycles.
• Industry Context: Direct experience supporting EDI systems within a manufacturing framework.
• Communication: The ability to simplify complex technical hurdles into actionable business insights for executive stakeholders.
