As a Police Officer with our department, you will protect life and property, maintain order, investigate incidents, deter criminal activity, and provide safety education, all while building the collaborative partnerships that make a university community thrive. This role directly supports UW‑Green Bay's strategic commitment to student success by ensuring every person on our campus feels safe, valued, and supported.

Key Job Responsibilities- Provides personal safety and crime prevention education to the institutional community.
- Ensures the safe and orderly flow of traffic on institutional roadways and enforces traffic laws.
- Provides protection of life, property, and the preservation of peace and good order, and provides emergency aid to the institutional community.
- Performs preliminary and follow‑up investigations to solve crimes, identify suspects and victims, apprehend criminals, and document case information.
- Engages in problem solving, threat mitigation, and conflict resolution for a wide range of issues and incidents involving citizens, groups, campus entities, government agencies, businesses, leaders, and others.
- Possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license upon appointment or be eligible to obtain one.
- Successfully complete a Wisconsin Department of Justice approved "Law Enforcement Recruit" training course or already be certified by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) as a Law Enforcement Officer.
- No record of an unpardoned adult felony conviction and no convictions for domestic violence.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Prior law enforcement experience.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Ability to maintain the strength, stamina, dexterity, and overall physical fitness required for the performance of duties.
- Ability to be on foot for ten or more hours.
- Possess the ability to take defensive measures in the event of a physical assault.
- Considerable knowledge of the Constitution of the United States of America, Wisconsin State Statutes, Wisconsin Administrative codes, University and department rules, policies, and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of investigative methods and techniques, proper preparation of all reports and forms.
- Ability to observe and recall facts and details about persons, events, accident scenes, physical conditions, and human behaviors.
- Knowledge and skill in defense and arrest tactics, emergency vehicle operation, use of force, crowd control techniques, and assigned equipment techniques.
- Ability to communicate with clear and concise speech at all times, including in extremely stressful and non‑stressful situations.
- Above‑average abilities in multitasking; including the ability to perform a physical task while appropriately processing verbal or written information.
