The Store Manager role is critical to the overall success of the business. They oversee daily operations of a busy automotive service center, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and strong financial performance. They are the keeper of the values, the maintainer of the standards, and the leader whom everyone in the shop follows. This role requires a hands-on leader with proven experience in automotive management who can motivate a team, maintain operational excellence, and drive business growth.
JobResponsibilities and Duties:
- Lead and manage all store operations, including customer service, scheduling, workflow, and inventory control
- Supervise, train, and develop team members to maintain high performance and professionalism
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Monitor financial performance, including sales targets, labor costs, and profitability
- Build strong customer relationships and resolve escalated concerns with professionalism
- Oversee parts ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with ownership/upper management on strategic goals and operational needs
- Perform shop tasks as needed: assist in sales, shuttle driver responsibilities, answering the phones, or any other task that can be safely completed
- Minimum 5 years of general management experience in the automotive industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate a diverse team to maintain KPI metrics within company standards
- Solid understanding of automotive repair operations, workflow, and customer service
- Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze performance metrics, and meet financial goals (especially Profit & Loss Statements)
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications for managing appointments, invoices, and customer records
- Excellent communication, people managing, problem-solving, detail oriented and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive shop management software
- ASE certifications or technical background
- Prior experience managing multi-bay repair facilities
