Waterjet Machine Operator

Position Description

Our waterjet operators are primarily responsible for setting up and operating waterjet cutting machines to produce products to customer specifications.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 1 year of machine operator experience (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Fork lift experience (required).
  • Able to accurately read blueprints and understand standard operating procedures.
  • Capable of setting up and operating waterjet cutting machines.
  • Has good math skills (addition and subtraction of whole numbers and fractions).
  • Able to measure accurately using a caliper, micrometer and tape measure.
  • Capable of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, working overhead and standing for long periods of time while performing job tasks.
  • Able to perform manual material handling, sorting, lifting, and carrying of assorted sized items up to 60 pounds.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Is reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates personal character in line with our Values and Code of Conduct.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately read blueprints and ensure correct product dimensions are obtained while minimizing product waste.
  • Efficiently and effectively set-up, operate, adjust, and maintain waterjet cutting machines and related equipment per each job order.
  • Perform light equipment maintenance and report equipment faults for repairs.
  • Perform secondary work operating hand‑held tools and other equipment to deburr, drill, countersink, and polish product.
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklift to load and unload parts from machines, fixtures and work areas.
  • Fill out daily paperwork for all work projects in a timely manner ensuring proper allocation of time and materials.
  • Responsible for performing Quality Assurance checks including measuring products with caliper, micrometer and tape measure to ensure product specifications, quality and excellent craftsmanship are maintained.
  • Show a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service. Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
