Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, has an opportunity for a Maintenance II at our Acme Street plant in Green Bay, WI.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance II
, you will:

  • Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g., Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
  • Perform basic welding (primarily TIG; some MIG and stick); identify good and bad welds.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g., grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters).
  • Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g., threading pipe) and related equipment to keep machines, mechanical equipment, structure, or building in repair.
  • Perform basic forklift maintenance (change tires, replace bushings).
  • Perform basic hydraulics (e.g., change motors, make hoses).
  • Complete necessary paperwork (PM sheets, work orders).
  • Assist in performing maintenance on scale equipment (e.g., portable, floor, and matrix - hot/cold).
  • Perform intermediate plumbing (e.g., install and maintain piping).
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair or replace defective equipment or parts using hand tools and power tools (e.g., change belts, gear boxes).
  • Provide guidance and train lower‑level employees on maintenance processes and standards.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work in varied temperature conditions, including warm, hot, humid, cold, wet, or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts, while using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools, and ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime; must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete required training:
    • Safety
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF)
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Food defense
    • Forklift
    • Lock out/Tag out
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior maintenance experience in a USDA‑inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and operation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or successful completion of technical school courses to obtain certificates in:
    • TIG, stick, and MIG welding
    • Pneumatics
    • Hydraulics
    • Diagnosing and maintaining equipment or parts; inspecting, operating, adjusting, testing, maintaining, or aligning to identify malfunctions (e.g., hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, forklift, pallet jack, walker, scales portable, floor, matrix – hot/cold, conveyors, Cryovac, saws, overhead chains, etc.).
