The Machinist is responsible for machining, fabricating, repairing, and rebuilding hydraulic components and related equipment to meet operational and customer specifications. This position operates manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture precision parts, restore worn components, and support hydraulic cylinder, pump, valve, and equipment repair processes. The Machinist works from blueprints, measurements, and technical specifications while ensuring quality workmanship, safe operations, and adherence to production timelines.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, aa well as vertical milling machines to machine precision hydraulic components.
- Machine and fabricate parts used in hydraulic cylinder and component repairs
- Inspect, measure, and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments
- Repair or restore worn hydraulic components to proper tolerances and specifications
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and patterns to machine parts that meet strict quality standards.
- Perform thread cutting, boring, welding preparation, and surface finishing as required
- Perform cleaning, light maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on machines to maintain optimal performance.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and clean operating condition
- Collaborate with technicians and shop personnel to complete repair projects efficiently
- Assist with inventory control, including unloading shipments and organizing stock.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and production procedures
- Document completed work, measurements, and materials used during repair processes
- Provide customer service support by communicating with customers regarding part specifications and order updates.
- Contribute to a clean and organized work environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the Kundinger Quality Control process through compliance with the Quality Management requirements, customer focus and continual improvement.
