Job Description
This role focuses on performing MIG, TIG, and flux core welding on a variety of parts, including fixtures for frames, tanks, enclosures, and components used by the U.S. military. You will work with smaller volume production and a diverse mix of parts, using blueprints and quality tools to ensure precise, high-quality welds in a clean, family-oriented shop environment.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG, TIG, and flux core welding on fixtures, frames, tanks, enclosures, and military-related parts according to specifications.
- Interpret and work from blueprints to fabricate and weld parts accurately.
- Set up, operate, and adjust robotic welding equipment to meet production and quality standards.
- Use quality tools and inspection methods to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members in a fabrication environment to complete jobs efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with shop standards.
- Participate in skills training and continuous improvement initiatives, including AWS-related training.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating welding and fabrication equipment.
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding in a fabrication or production environment.
- Proficiency in TIG welding, including the ability to produce clean, consistent welds.
- Experience with flux core welding and understanding of appropriate applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for fabrication and welding tasks.
- Familiarity with robotic welding processes and equipment operation.
- Competence in using quality tools and inspection equipment to verify weld and part quality.
Skills & Qualifications
- Formal classes or coursework in welding or related technical fields.
- Exposure to AWS training or willingness to participate in AWS-focused skills development.
- Comfort working with a variety of part types and smaller volume, mixed production runs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, family-style shop environment.

WorkEnvironment
You will work in a clean, family-oriented shop that prioritizes safety, organization, and a supportive team atmosphere. The facility operates on a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The environment is focused on fabrication and robotic welding, with access to quality tools and training resources to help you continually refine your skills.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mequon, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
