Pro Ampac is seeking an Extrusion Machine Assistant to support our flexible packaging production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this on-site role, you will help set up, operate, and shut down extrusion equipment, load materials, and handle finished rolls while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. You'll monitor line conditions, perform basic inspections, record production data, and assist with changeovers and routine cleaning.
Working in a collaborative, safety-first culture, you'll support continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives while gaining skills and growth opportunities in advanced extrusion operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setup, operation, and shutdown of extrusion machines producing flexible packaging materials
- Monitor machine parameters, material feed, and product quality; make basic adjustments under operator guidance
- Load, stage, and move raw materials and finished rolls following safety and handling procedures
- Perform routine cleaning of machines, work areas, and tools to maintain a safe, 5
- S-compliant environment
- Conduct basic visual and dimensional inspections and record production and quality data
- Assist with changeovers, die and screen changes, and roll handling to minimize downtime
- Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Communicate issues with supervisors, maintenance, and quality team to resolve problems quickly
- Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives
- Participate in training to learn advanced extrusion processes and grow into higher-level roles
