Machine Operator

The entry level operator is responsible for helping produce and prepare products for shipment. Their duties include placing process materials or products into manufacturing machines to aid the filling process, the packaging of finished goods, and their preparation for shipments. As well as, completing checks on equipment and products to ensure quality production. They may be responsible for cleaning equipment or the work area, maintain a count of items produced, record readings or maintain a log of raw materials used and may be asked to perform limited maintenance on equipment such as lubricating of parts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain production machines
• Store products and materials
• Meet the deadlines of individual production tasks during shift
• Report on defective products or machinery
• Check stock levels and report deficiencies in products or raw materials
• Keep the worksite clean and sanitize according to department standards
• Ensure shipping procedures are timely
• Transfer equipment manually or with forklift trucks
• Follow the company’s safety and quality guidelines

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to effectively communicate
• Highly detail oriented
• Understanding and knowledge of basic mechanics

Physical & Behavioral:

• Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
• Frequently required to reach above shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop or kneel
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds usually from floor to waist level, and able to lift 25 pounds repetitively at or above shoulder height
• Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time
