Under the general supervision of the Youth Outreach Director, the Youth Outreach Coordinator supports the design, coordination, and delivery of outreach programming that meets the evolving needs of young people across the Greater Green Bay community. This position develops curriculum, supports staff training, and ensures programs align with the Y’s mission, values, and guiding principles. The Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening community connections, empowering youth voice, and ensuring high-quality program implementation.

In collaboration with the Youth Outreach Director, this role contributes to strategic planning, data-informed improvement, and the professional development of outreach staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all Youth Outreach Specialist functions by actively leading and modeling program delivery methods to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across outreach initiatives.
  • Foster authentic connections between youth and peers by creating inclusive, engaging, and supportive program environments so participants develop positive relationships, confidence, and belonging.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers by providing updates on program content, events, and participant progress to strengthen trust and reinforce family engagement in YMCA programs.
  • Coordinate and advocate for the Y Achievers program by developing promotional storytelling, tracking outcomes, and aligning programming with youth development goals to expand awareness and impact in the community.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with youth, families, and community partners by representing the YMCA with integrity and professionalism to enhance the organization’s reputation and strengthen collaborations.
  • Collect, organize, and prepare data for analysis in partnership with the Youth Outreach Director to identify trends, measure program impact, and integrate learnings into future curriculum and staff training.
  • Integrate Youth Outreach programs with other YMCA initiatives by identifying opportunities for collaboration across departments so participants experience a seamless connection to the broader YMCA mission and services.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to staff and volunteers through observation, mentoring, and constructive dialogue to promote continuous learning and strengthen the quality of program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate program records and enrollment databases by updating participant information, attendance, and required reports to ensure accountability and compliance with YMCA and partner standards.
  • Ensure a safe and engaging program environment by proactively managing risks, maintaining equipment, enforcing safety protocols, and responding effectively to emergencies to protect youth and staff.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all YMCA abuse prevention and risk management policies, including required trainings, mandated reporting, and monitoring of high-risk areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on experience working with middle and/or high school youth required; four (4) years preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of staff supervision experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Preferred Staff Supervision experience of 1 year.
  • Microsoft Office Suite working knowledge is required.
  • YUSA Leader Certification (within 6 months) is required;
    Team Leader Certification (or progress toward) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, adapt, and manage curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Proven ability to manage equipment and supplies, maintaining and resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, public relations, and program leadership skills are required.
