Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating daily nursing operations
- Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of resident care
- Participate in state and federal surveys and inspections as requested
- Assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the Discharge Planning Coordinator
- Serve on the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as directed
- Review nursing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with care plans
- Monitor medication passes and treatments for accuracy and timeliness; report medication errors promptly
- Provide direct nursing care as needed
- Ensure care delivered reflects resident preferences, rights, and wishes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Previous supervisory experience in a nursing facility, or healthcare setting preferred
