Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse is a crucial member of our clinic team, delivering patient‑centered care. Responsibilities include triaging incoming calls from patients and families, assessing their needs, providing advice, and facilitating appointments with physicians and advanced providers. The RN also provides hands‑on direct patient care as needed and is accountable for safety and quality of care within the scope of practice defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and Prevea policies.
Whatyou will do
- Manage patient/family health concerns through telephone triage and consultation, seeking information to understand circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
- Facilitate caller’s access to appropriate level of care by assessing needs and offering clinical options within scope of licensure; may refer to health‑care providers, services, and community resources.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans for optimal outcomes.
- Conduct telephone follow‑up calls, provide test results, and offer health counseling and education to patients and families about care and instructions.
- Provide direct patient care including rooming patients, obtaining medical information, performing comprehensive initial assessment, and maintaining charts/records; assist physicians or advanced providers with procedures and instructions.
- Perform medication administration and communicate information with patients, physicians, advanced providers, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Graduation from an accredited and approved Nursing program (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
- Competent in patient education/teaching.
- Ability to assist providers with exams, tests, and treatments.
- Strong patient assessment skills in person and on the phone in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to administer immunizations and medications.
- Current, valid Registered Nurse license in WI (required upon hire).
- CPR/BLS certification – Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from an approved program (required upon hire).
