Advanced Practice Provider - Ear, Nose, & Throat

This position will work 32 hours per week and will be eligible for full‑time benefits.

No call requirements. There may be some limited hospital rounding‑up to about 2 hours per week during regular work hours; the role is primarily clinic‑based.

The Advanced Practice Provider, an advanced practice nurse (NP) or physician assistant (PA), will deliver health‑care services to patients, families and groups emphasizing the promotion of health and prevention of disease under direct supervision and responsibility of physicians. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and other health professionals regarding clinical practice, education, consultation, research and program development.

• Provide assessment, evaluation, and management to patients with minor, acute, chronic, and episodic illness & injuries, including follow‑up exams when required.
• Collaborate with patients to review their health background and determine physiological, emotional, and environmental needs; advise patients and families on future health plans and illness prevention.
• Provide case management services to assist clients and families with arrangements for, or referrals to, needed services.
• Conduct telephone calls back to patients requiring follow‑up care; provide health counseling and education about their health care and any follow‑up instructions.
• Order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribe pharmacological agents, and administer other non‑pharmacological treatment modalities.
• Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information; document all details in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians and other providers to develop and implement patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes.

• Graduate of a master’s level nurse practitioner program OR graduate from an accredited physician assistant program (Required).

• 1–3 years of work experience in a clinical setting within a health‑care organization (Preferred).

• Knowledge of the information and techniques required to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases, including understanding symptoms, treatment options, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.
• Demonstrate organizational skills that allow timely patient appointments and appropriate required follow‑up.
• Present a courteous and service‑oriented image through positive and helpful interaction with patients, families, physicians, and co‑workers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
• Ability to form work/patient relationships with patients and peers.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.

• Must possess the licenses/certification details of a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant.
• Nurse Practitioner:
  Registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin with a certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board (AANPCB). (Upon Hire Required)
• Physician Assistant:
  Licensed by the state of Wisconsin as a Physician Assistant. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant. (Upon Hire Required)
• CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program (Required).
